Evi Weyhe

Evi was born in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps, grew up in Munich and then lived and worked in Africa – Uganda, Seychelles and Kenya for over 25 years. Since 1999 she has lived in Andalusia all year round, first in Estepona, then Tarifa, Marbella and for the last three years with her partner, dog and cat, in the hinterland of Torrox.

The years in Africa from 1973-1999 have remained unforgettable for her. There, in addition to her work for a development aid organization, she promoted local artists and helped them market their works. Art in any form has always been a concern of hers. Her personal strength lies in the art of writing. Her first book “Africa Moments” was followed by various collections of short stories.

Recently, she has been dealing with the possibilities of image design via AI . She creates designs, posts them on “Red Bubble”, an artist portal, and sells them online.

Her two children, who grew up in Africa, have taken different paths. Her daughter lives with her family in Hamburg, studied art and illustration, and the form and color of this continent live on in her picture stories. www.birgit-weyhe.de

Her son lived with his wife and two children in Pemba/Mozambique until 2018, where he built up and managed a small but fine tourist lodge. Now they live on Lake Tahoe in Northern California.

Here in Spain, Evi has found many things that remind her of Africa. The joie de vivre, the landscape, the climate and the pace of everyday life, so that she can say she feels at home!

In addition to writing and designing, her hobbies also include cooking. You can book a meal with her on the finca and view the works of art from Africa that can be found everywhere in the house and garden.
