Welcome to Andalusia
Torrox-Costa, the popular vacation resort.
With just over 20,000 inhabitants, Torrox has now grown into a small town in the province of Málaga in Andalusia on the Costa del Sol.
Consisting of the districts of Torrox (Pueblo), Torrox-Costa and El Morche, this region is very popular with many retirees from other European countries.
In the 80s, Torrox was known as a “German stronghold”.
In the meantime, only 2,033 Germans are officially registered who live here permanently or spend the winter.
The proportion of Britons is about the same.
But Dutch, Belgians, French, Danes and even Swedes also spend their retirement or winter holidays here.
In Torrox, the official proportion of foreigners in the total population is 38.3 percent (as of 2024).
So you could say:
Europe has discovered this wonderful region for itself.
