Until now, wearing a bicycle helmet in Spain was only compulsory outside built-up areas.

Since 01.01.2025, wearing a bicycle helmet has also been mandatory for all cyclists in built-up areas.

The same applies to e-scooter riders. New rules also apply to car drivers in this regard …

… I recommend everyone to inform themselves thoroughly, because there are penalties of €200 to €1,000!
