… and play me the song of death – in Tabernas !

If you loved “Western” movies in your youth,
you should also visit a real western town.

In the 60s, Sergio Leone originally had fourteen western towns built in Tabernas (in the only desert in Europe near Almeria), three of which can still be visited for an entrance fee.

The most famous is “Fort Bravo”. Then there are “Oasys Mini Hollywood” and “Western Leone”.

Please do not confuse these places with the modern amusement parks.

In Tabernas everything is “really” recreated for Hollywood:
All buildings are in a great desert landscape.

You can see the railroad tracks that lead to “Sweetwater” or the archway under which “Mundharmonica” had to play for his life.

Here, Sergio Leone & other directors have turned many actors into “heroes and legends”.
For example, Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, Clint Eastwood or Peter O’Toole.

Movies like “Laurence of Arabia”, “Indiana Jones”, Bullie Herbig’s “The Shoe of Manitou” & scenes for “Games of Thrones” were filmed here & of course almost all Western classics.

Fort Bravo offers:

A show in the saloon: with can-can, light girls, cowboys & the sheriff. Whiskey, brawls & shootings.

The Can-Can Girls are also the “girls” who stand behind the counter before and after the show and also sell the souvenirs in the merchandising shop.

Show No. 2 is an outdoor show with cowboys, horses and wild shootouts.
As in the “Wild West”, there are no paved roads here. It’s quite dusty.

The cowboys are busy with the horses all day long – between the shows you can book carriage rides or ride the horses through the western town.

All of this is supervised by the show team. So you can imagine that these are not pure “artists or professionals” for a show.

In any case, it is entertaining, even a little “comedy” is offered.

Here you don’t sit on stages – here you sit & stand in the middle of the action – pure adventure.
